Life will happen! How a person’s life unfolds is the result of trust and preparedness – trusting you’re prepared, and knowing you’re prepared enough to trust your own decisions. Instilled from hard-working parents and coming from a military family, I’ve always seen life as an adventure. However, all adventures are more rewarding when you are prepared.
Studying interior design as a student in college, I ultimately graduated with a business degree in 2008 from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. After graduation I found myself in the midst of one of the worst recessions in our country's history. With a limited job market in Richmond, I knew there was more in the world and began looking for a new adventure. With the support of my family, trust in God, education, and a desire to be a part of something larger than myself, I joined AmeriCorps (Montana Conservation Corp.), was blessed to be chosen for a crew leader position, and began my journey west.
The girl who surely preferred the more comfortable things in life was now leading a team of young adults through the wilderness of Montana. The MCC Crew was blazing trails through mountains, sleeping in tents for months at a time, maintaining trails, and chopping down trees. I was feeling more like Grizzly Adams (and proud of it) learning to appreciate a successfully cut switchback than a girl who dreamed more of design and fashion.
My AmeriCorps trail ended, and a new journey began, in Helena, Montana, where I simply fell in love – with the area, a new job, and most importantly – my husband. Working as a paralegal for a local law firm I fine-tuned my business skills realizing how much I enjoy paying attention to small details and seeing a task through from beginning to completion. It was while planning our wedding (that took place on the east coast in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina), that Belliveau Weddings, Events, Design began and was ultimately established as an LLC in 2016. That cinder has now grown into fiery desire to help people realize their vision and transform it into a reality. You can trust that BWED will be prepared to take the stress off your shoulders and create a special event that you will always treasure.
